Organizers of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar have released their official match schedule for the competition. The 32-team event will run from November 20 to December 18. It will be the first World Cup played in the Middle East and the second held in Asia after the 2002 tournament in South Korea.
Group A will include two teams from Europe, while Group B will be made up of two teams from South America. Group D will feature the two defending champions, France, as well as Australia and Tunisia. Group C will have three teams from the Middle East. Group D will also include the United Arab Emirates, which will be hosting the tournament.
The 2022 World Cup will be the first World Cup to be played outside the traditional summer window. The tournament will take place in Doha, a country with a population of less than three million. The Gulf state has spent more than $200 billion on World Cup infrastructure.
The World Cup will be played on eight stadiums in the country. Seven of them are new. All of them are within a 40-mile radius of Doha. The stadiums will be able to host up to four matches per day. Each matchday will include four games in each of the four groups.
Six Latin American teams will also participate in the competition. The USMNT will be in Group B and will play Peru, as well as United Arab Emirates. The tournament will be broadcast on Spanish language TV stations. The tournament is expected to be played from November 20 to December 18.
The final 26-man squad for the tournament will be announced by November 9. A seven-act programme is scheduled to take place, which will include tributes to the teams, the volunteers, and the previous FIFA World Cup hosts. The programme will also encourage a dialogue on inclusion.
The group stage of the tournament will feature 16 teams, with the winner of each group moving on to the knockout stage. The top seven qualifiers in the FIFA rankings will be invited to participate in Foot One. In addition to the group stage, FIFA has also scheduled two intercontinental playoffs in June.
Six Latin American teams will be competing in the United States. The USMNT will be in Group D and will play Peru, as well as United Arabic Emirates. The tournament is expected to be played from September to December.
The final match in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar will be held at Lusail Stadium on December 18. The tournament will be the first FIFA World Cup played outside the traditional summer window. Organizers have moved the tournament out of the hot summer months to avoid the high temperatures. The stadium is expected to have a capacity of 94,000 spectators. The event is expected to be controversial, and allegations of human rights abuses and sportswashing are likely to be raised. The tournament will also be the first men’s World Cup to be played outside of the traditional summer window.
